During the opening session of this
meeting chaired by Khalid Soufiani, coordinator of the National Action
Group for the Support of Palestine, participants discussed a concept
note of a press release to be issued Monday on the meeting’s decisions and recommendations.
On the sidelines of this meeting, the
president of the Arab union of pharmacists Mohamed Laghdaf Rhaouti told
MAP that participants also discussed coordination between Arab unions
and popular organizations for the support for the Palestinian resistance
as well as the possibility of opening the Rafah crossing.
A committee was set up for this purpose
and will examine with the Egyptian government the possibility of opening
the Rafah crossing, which is the only way to get humanitarian aid into
the Strip of Gaza, he added.
The meeting was also an opportunity to
discuss actions and initiatives to be taken at the level Arab civil
society in order to support the Palestinian resistance, said Rhaouti.
